Local Man Sued By Napster

Local resident Jack Knapster recently tried to open a free online mp3 site, but ran into legal problems with the MP3 giant.

Some may call what Knapster did stealing, but Jack doesn't think so. "All I did was get a copy of all of Napster's pages and programs, changed all the Napster's to Knapster's, and took off the ads. And now they're after me."

Napster officials declined to comment, but Napster's official Unidentified Source, Mary Empethre, said "What he's doing is wrong. We put a lot of work into this site, and have literally millions of lines of proprietary code. He's taking money away from us, no matter what he says."

"I deny that charge," says Knapster, "I'm only borrowing it. If you take a few million lines of program code, and put them in a certain order, do you then 'own' those lines? I don't think so."
