Jordan To Play Another Season With The Wizards, Syria Remains Noncommital

Jordan, one of the most progressive countries in the Middle East, has agreed to sign on for one more season with the Washington Wizards.

"Our love for the game of basketball continues to drive our decision," His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan said in a statement released by the Wizards. "Physically we are feeling very strong, and feel that the steps we took in the offseason have allowed us to return to the game in great condition."

Now that Jordan has announced it's intentions, political sports fans have turned their attention to Jordan's long-time rival, Syria, who has not yet committed to playing another season with the Lakers. President Bashar al-Asad is expected to announce Syria's plans by the end of the week.

In a related story, a really old joke based on Michael Jordan's name was recycled by an online newspaper. More news on this as it arrives.
