Parents All Think Their Child's Team Won Tie Game

On December 19 2000, The Tiger Cubs were on their way to victory over their long-time rivals when The Panther Cubs managed to make a last minute run to tie the game. After several more innings with neither team able to score, a "sudden death" round was held, in which The Panther Cubs managed to score a hit, winning the game and the regional title.

The Tiger Cubs protested the outcome, claiming that, among other things, Timmy Johnston had run out of baseline in the second inning, and a walk given to Joey Hansen in the sixth inning shouldn't have counted because Joey was too tall for the pitcher, and was possibly too tall to be in the league at all. The Panther Cubs denied the allegations, and entered several more complaints of their own.

After much deliberation, the umpires finally gave the game to The Panther Cubs, though the vote was close.

Now, a year later, the parents of the children of The Tiger Cubs are still battling to get the medals for their children, saying that the allegedly incorrect calls made during the game would have allowed the The Tiger Cubs to win by one point.

The parents of The Panther Cubs point out that if their complaints had been listened to, they would have received several more points, in which they would have won by one point.

The Tiger Cubs' parents say their complaints are more valid than The Panther Cubs' parents', so only their complaints should count, an idea the The Panther Cubs's parents reject.

Daniel Harris, a fan of the non-placing team The Bear Cubs comments "This is ridiculous: all the The Tiger Cubs fans think they really won, and all the The Panther Cubs fans think they won. Big surprise there."
