Embryonic Stem Cell Explodes, Raising Safety Concerns

An unfortunate incident at the GenCo genetics laboratory left four dead and dozens injured after a stem cell exploded, killing the researchers. GenCo laboratory was unavailable for comment.

Stem cells have come into the public's eye recently because of a recent Bush decision allowing continuing, limited use of the cells. Opponents of the new policy, who favor a complete ban on the research, were quick to capitalize on this incident, touting the explosion as yet another reason why the research is not only unethical, but dangerous; both to the embryos and people standing around them.
