Sharon And Arafat Find Common Ground

After decades of oppression and suicide bombings, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian leader Yassir Arafat have reached an historic agreement which may mean peace for the troubled region.

"The key to any lasting peace is to find commonalities between the two sides," explained Sharon at a press conference. "When we discovered our shared interests, we declared an immediate end to the hostilities."

The agreement, a first for the region, centers around the leaders' shared enjoyment of killing innocent people.

"When we discovered our mutual interest," said Arafat, "we immediately recognized the waste in the current system; we vowed to come up with a way to kill more innocent people in a more efficient manner."
